We are about to enter that time of the year where it’s dark when we get up and it’s dark when we get home! I need a little more motivation than usual during this period so I have compiled a list of some of the things that lift my spirit.
- Instagram
Does anyone else open the app and 5 hours later realise that you are still quite happily scrolling through and liking pictures and of course taking screen shots of your next tattoo and hairstyle? Yep guilty! - Red lipstick
That feeling once red lipstick has been applied. It’s like a sudden urge to take over the world. - Shopping
Duh I am female. - Vitamin D
Preferably obtained via a beach however if desperation calls a cheeky sun bed will suffice. - Fresh flowers
Can brighten up even the dullest of days! - Scented candles
Particularly loving a candle that I got at TKMaxx with the scent: Lavender & Lime flower.
I also love the candles and diffusers from Next. - Changing my hair colour
I have been practically every colour ever! But it works every time & always makes me feel a million dollars $$. - The scent of a new magazine
I can’t be the only one who smells the glossy pages before indulging in my favourite mag?
Actually the Argos Catalogue is a personal fave! - Surprises
Hint Hint. - A hug with someone I love ❤
Because I can do cute too 🙂
Its also an inexpensive way to warm up! - Oversized Knits and thigh high boots
I love the concept and own many cute jumper dresses and 70’s style skirts. I also recently purchased some seriously sexy suede thigh high boots. It is however out of my comfort zone and I am still plucking up the courage to actually wear them in public. #Fail - Watching my cat chase a ball of paper or a screwed up crisp packet around the front room on the wooden flooring.
Words can’t really describe it – Its hilarious every time. #Win! - Silly sibling selfies
Because my sisters are totally adorable! - Driving my car with the music up loud
That feeling of ‘hitting the open road’ with your fave playlist on the go is unbeatable.
Thanks for reading if you can relate please give me a like & share and let me know if you have any other tips for surviving S.A.D.
I struggle with SAD I find I have to spend at least some time outside every day. I have a sun rise alarm clock and a lamp too which helps
